Trolls!

8am Wake up Time

Everyone meanders and wakes up. We send the cart to lead the way to the Everquarry. Abel appears to be jittery he wasn’t drinking and seems to be a bit anxious to everything that is happening he thinks that wasn’t very mindful or very demure. One could say he has the yips. The two guards stand and make eye contact with the donkeys, but the guards stand at attention with a bead of sweat down their head(getting the idea they want to fuck the donkeys).

The group approaches Rothgar’s office and the door opens. At first, we see nothing, but then remember Rothgar is a dwarf and after looking down see Rothgar standing impatiently. Opening the conversations with wanting to renegotiate terms. Look around and see a bonsai tree in the room (It also really finished the room, and it is revealed that a bonsai treen in a house is a standard cultural norm in the continent). We walk in and close the door behind us. Barr asks if he knows the source of the oil. Rothgar says he knows enough. As a dwarf he digs for a living and knows when it’s time to stop digging and does not think now is that time. Barr asks if he knows about Mirrodin. Rothgar says he doesn’t know of Mirrodin, but that he knows the oil comes from another plane not that it isn’t any of our business (even though it is literally our business). Abel shows himself and Rothgar says wtf you doing here. Abel gives him puppy eyes and tries to plea that we know what they know. We tell him we were at the source of the oil and that it is led by a god of nefarious means. He says he doesn’t really care and begins to unsheathe his sword, and a rumble occurs and a guard yells TROLLS. Rothgar goes to run outside, and Violi grabs him and says if we succeed in helping him protect his mine then he must negotiate with us in good faith to change his ways. Rothgar says if we succeed, he’ll agree to talk.

Turn 1
Barr
Attacked with his trident and attacked with Searing ignitions. Blinds one of the trolls and deal some decent damage to both of them. Strikes him again with an attack adding a fire strike, and swinging with his claws but it only appears to deal half damage.

Zieg
Summons a fire creature and deals some damage.

Troll 1
He is going to bite Barr and deal 14 piercing and 5 poison. Claws for 16 slashing, miss the second claw, 22 slashing with the third and misses the fourth.

Tossy
Cast Frost bolt and it hits on the blinded one that’s on fire in front of Barr.

Abel
Tosses a firebolt at the same Troll and misses…

Mingo
Fucked one of the trolls up

Troll 2
Spins and hits Mingo and the other troll taking 55 slashing damage. Barr takes 22

Violi
Hexes the fucked up trolls and casts synaptic static which fucks up the hexed troll and deals half damage to the other troll

Rothgar

Turn 2
Barr
Attacks with searing ignition and it deals some damage, he hits again with another attack and adds a storm strike. Hits with annudder attack. Action surge. Hits with 3 more attacks adds a fire strike, and some other stuff I lost track

Zieg
Casts aura of vitality and then heals Barr for 12 health, then bird man attacks and hits after pecking it the troll dies.

Troll 1
Begins to cry, moves and then whirlwinds hitting Barr for 42 damage and the little bird and 21 to Mingo

Tossy
Cast frost bolt on the trolls tears

Abel
Throws a dagger and somehow hits the troll for max damage.

Mingo
Bunny hops to catch the tears and pushes off the troll to land behind… Looking dope

Violi
Mingo transfers the frozen tears into a vial Violi is carrying and then Violi casts eldritch blast on the troll

Rothgar
Runs up to the troll and deals some damage and realizes he would have been fucked without us

Turn 3
Barr
Does a bunch of attacks again. Seriously losing track of everything he does.

Zieg
Heals Mingo, Barr and his bird, and then heals Barr again. The bird attacks…. And once again kills another troll. Zieg also extracts an additional bunch of trolls tears out that Barr catches in a vial

9/4 Session

Cratered

Rothgar says he can’t cease production of this operation, and asked for passage out of the realm. To his knowledge this is the only facility producing the oil. He brings us to the mine shaft and we see a memorial to a family of torltes, Rothgar doesn’t acknowledge it as he “comes down the shaft”. The group asked how he came about the oil and he says they used to mine for normal things and one day came across it and after notifying the capital instructions changed to focus on mining the oil. Suddenly there is an earthquake like rumble. Rothgar says it’s a barrel filling up of oil being readying for transport. We concoct a plan for Rothgar to send a few of his less valued employees to sabotage the mine and set it up to blow while backdating a letter to his superiors saying he suspects some of the people in his employ may be up to something. Rothgar creates letter to his superiors

“Dear Superiors,

I have begun to suspect collusion terrorism and plotting (the worst of them all) from my previously trusted associates Terance and PacPac they’ve asked many questions and I don’t like it. They are not on our trail: I will keep it that way, but I may need some support. Send an envoy. Posthaste.

Rothgar convinces Terrance and PacPac to execute the plan. Violi tells Rothgar that he will need to tell another employee, Tyreek, to stand at the bottom of the mineshaft with his armor and family crest. Tyreek spends a little extra time in the dark of cave if you know what I mean. Terrance blocks some of the oil flows to makes it begin to pool. PacPac sets up a lantern above where the oil is pooling as a test for a new emergency evacuation plan. We ride to the top of the shaft and Rothgar gathers a few thing with haste as we don’t know how long until this place goes boom. We exit the cave with a sense of urgency. We head west towards Demeth.

We feel a change in the air as though air is being suck backed behind us. We hear an explosion that rumbles the ground as a massive indescribable crater begins to form around the Everquarry and we are nowhere near far enough to get out of the blast. We watch as a tidal wave of rock is breaking crumbling and falling as behind us with great speed a wave hits us as we fall down down down and rocks fall down crushing all of us either permanently paralyzing, gutting us with inevitably lethal wounds or for the lucky few instantly killing all of us. At that moment Barr is pinned beneath a boulder and his lower half including butt plug is completely gone. One arm pinned and the other pinned at a shoulder. He sees Zieg’s body completely crushed with just his hand with the ring of 3 wishes hanging out, Violi’s body gone with just a mist of blood where he assumingly landed, Tossy’s flesh sprawled out and bloodied across the fallen stones and Mingo’s full body is visible looking completely unscathed somehow until he scans up to where his head would be there is only a blood, brain and fur covered rock.

We have reached a Total Party Wipe.

Just Kidding

Barr sees an individual come real quick and the rumbling stops at a distance. This individual comes and there’s a shimmering glow and something hits his face with moisture and sees someone lurch forward out of what appears thin air Barr hears “oh no I’m too late I’m too late” as a disformed humanoid figure (Barr’s vision is blurred due to being on the edge of death), go to each of his friends realizing he is very much too late. He begins to draw this symbol around the center and tries to make it in the rock but uneven terrain makes it difficult to getg a clear picture he continues to draw lines and draws arks to everyone. He comes to Barr and mumbles to himself Barr sees a cowboy hat and underneath the brim he catches a glimpse of a fancy letter V. As he draws a line Barr feels as though he’s going to vomit and the lines begin to disappear and the stranger steps back into the portal and he hears another explosion racing from behind. He begins to float back up as the implosion and time begins to reverse. He watches as his torso reattaches and his friends bodies begin to also reform, all seemingly unconscious. Everything rolls back to when the explosion started but time freezes. He sees the figure reappear and they draw a circle around the group and he whispers an incantation and time wooshes forward and hear the initial blast but are teleported 500 ft forward by a portal.

Time resumes as normal from the same point. We watch as Tossy listens to the donkeys say oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck. Barr is aware we are actually much farther away than before and we get about 100 feet away from the edge of the crater and turn around to a “massive pit of gone”. Seeing a crater that goes unbelievably deep. Everyone in the group thinks gee that was close, not knowing what had previously occurred, but Barr being fully aware that something weird had just happen fully experiencing everything that happened, but is unsure if it was real. Barr vomits and is very rattled.

Tossy and Violi have a moment and high five celebrating moving fast enough to avoid the blast. Rothgar begins to realize that all his life work has gone to crumble. Tossy walks up to Barr noticing he is really glum and goes up to him and plays with his “tail”(butt plug) Barr is jolted and Tossy asks if he’s good. Barr says not yet.

Demeth
Arriving at 10am, Doth comes up to greet the Furries and Fiends. He informs the group production has been great since the extra oil that’s been coming in and holds up an oil burning lamp to everyone’s face. Violi convinces them that they arrived here from Rethal and were unaware of the explosion sounds that they heard. Tossy tells them we were sent to help celebrate the day of Bahamut’s Blessing. They note that they wanted to come back to the group’s first act of “heroism”. We make plans to go Bahamut caroling.

Tossy’s eye flash and in his head he sees when he was at a time with snow and seeing large shadows floating in the air around him dancing in the streets in a moderately sized city and watch as he dances with a person who appears to be a woman. He is doing something like a figure skating routine with someone, there’s some trumpeting and some drumming they finish and take a bow and realize they are in a crowd full of people. He hears an announcement that says “on this bleesed day we would like to thank…” and he snaps back to reality although gravity remained normal. Tossy takes this as inspiration and would like to do break dancing like RayGun in the summer Olympics.

Zieg is going to offer up the idea some food. Barr also would like to help collaborate on a feast. Tossy wants to have some lamb kebabs. Zieg wants to contribute some steak and fine wine.

Demeth Outskirts

Zieg and Barr go out to hunt starting out on land they see absolutely nothing…. Then they turn to the small river and Barr casts his line and he catchs a handful of Angler fish and he heads back to the down feeling a bit defeated and feeling a bit itchy.

Demeth

Tossy and Violi come across a hat shop called Herb’s Hats and another shop called Tomes of Tomb’s. They approach the hat vendor. Tossy looking for a wizard hat. The vendor offers up a regular cone shaped hat with stars and moons. Barr asks if he has any hats that would celebrate the day of Bahamut and he has a hat that he has worked on for the last year of his life and would sell it to us for 50 gold. Violi talks him down to 32 gold and a Fedora for free. They make the deal and head of the tome tombs.
He has maps The Python’s Kiss, An Icy Death, and The Belly of the Furnace. He warns us that sometimes that it is not a graveyard that these reside in. Sometimes they are more like a gravesite. Barr offers 23 gold for all 3, He says 25 for all 3 Tossy says deal handing his 2 coild left over. Tossy takes the map “An Icy Death”, Zieg takes “The Python’s Kiss” and Violi takes “The Belly of the Furnace”. The three excitedly leave and Barr stays behind and asks if there are any books with an author by the name of a V. The skeleton pulls out a book and the author’s signature is the same V as what he witnessed earlier. The true writings of the book only become apparent when necessary. Barr asks how much for it, being the skeleton book keeper’s oldest possession as long as Barr promises to uncover its secrets no matter the cost he will give him the book, but you will seek me out again and share with him the pages. Barr asks how he will find him cuz that 100 sided die has lots of sides. You will find him by seeking death and he will come. He slides him the book and says don’t open it until he leaves. Barr takes it and puts it in his backpack.

Tossy and Violi go out to hunt. Tossy finds a group of exotic frogs, and Violi finds swinging in the trees a group of lemurs.. Tossy is going to leave the frogs, but Violi brings back 6 Lemurs… he really went after those monkeys. The group heads back.

9/11 session

9/11 Never Forget

6pm-7pm

Barr is going to give a performance of Bahamut’s blessing song to the kids of Demeth to perform. He does a decent job of getting them to perform in the way he wants them. They all seem to be performing pretty well except for one kid. Barr pulls him out and has him help orchestrate instead of participating. There are 9 children in the village 5 will sing 1 will orchestrate and 3 will act in Violi’s play. Violi consults 3 elders on what some of the thing sof Bahamut are and comes up with a play that celebrates Demeth as his potential birthplace and the children will take the role of 3 wise men that are bringing gifts to Bahamut’s birth and someone will try to take baby Bahamut and the 3 wise men act in the name of justice to stop Bahamu’ts kidnapping and inspire him to grow up and become the god of justice. Tossy is going to use his light spell to help set up fancy decorations. Zieg is going to offer up half his bag of magical beans to the alter.

The group goes to the edge of town to throw the other 3 bean. Zieg throws his bean and smoke begins to bellow turning blue as the ground bursts open and blasts 8 logs drop lighting a blue fire. Barr throws his bean and a geyser erupts of a frothy amber liquid comes flying into the air, Violi sticks out his tongue and tastes beer. They collect beer and start to drink. Violi throws his bean and a Pyramid sprouts out covering up the beer trench.

In Town

Tossy “goes to town” and hires a chiseler to create a statue of Bahamut to have the ceremonial first chisel on the day of Bahamut set to finish and be revealed next year. Tossy approaches the 3 older men and ask them if there is a chiseler. Tossy negotiates a deal with a chiseler to pay him 2 gold up front an additional 1 gold at the first quarter and 3 golder each quarter until completion for a total of 12 gold with incentives of potential additional gold depending on quality. Tossy is setting up decorations around the town. Violi is prepping the kids for his play which will lead into the other kids singing. Violi and Tossy feel a rumble and look at each other knowing it is likely Zieg and Barr causing some type of trouble and they head toward the pyramid.

Edge of town same time as Violi and Tossy are in Town

Barr and Zieg go to explore the pyramid. The pyramid is a very open floor concept. There is a sarcophagus on in the back on a platform with steps leading to it. On the runway portion behind the sarcophagus there is a large statue. Barr recognizes it as a large muscular man with a lightning bolt and horns on his head like a goat and recognize it as a statue of Bane the god of tyranny. Barr tells Zieg to grab his ropes to toss over the statue to pull it down. There are runes placed in the path to the runway but reading the inscription it’s just light no traps. There are some columns and other spots, but nothing else of note in the pyramid. Barr and Zieg check the sarcophagus before attempting to fell the statue. Barr and Zieg push it open and a black plume rises up out of the sarcophagus and in front of the statue in the form of a black shadowy humanoid. Zieg produces flame and now it is a glowing shadow. Barr asks what its purpose here is? Zieg readies his weapon. There is a little rumble in the ground and hear a mumble getting ready to speak. Zieg and Barr ready for battle. They face something looking like Bane for battle

Turn 1
Barr misses his first attack and second attack crits his third attack adding a lightning strike.

Zieg asks if we are friend or foe, he says he is neither. Zieg asks if he means us harm, and he says he means no harm to those that worship him. Zieg uses his flame to which Bane is immune

It attacks Barr and deals 27 bludgeoning damage as he grabs him by the neck and raises him up saying pathetic

Tossy and Violi reach the battle.

Turn 2
Barr tries to pull him in the flask and escape but fails at both

Zieg will go over to the tomb and stick his hand in the tomb and throw his illuminated fire flame in it. He tried to pull Barr out of the grapple but fails

Tossy runs up to the sarcophagus and tries to shut it, but it doesn’t move at all. As Tossy stands there his eyes glow an icy blue white and he casts dominate monster which succeeds charming “Bane”. Tossy commands him to surrender and seal himself in the sarcophagus, to which Bane complies.

Violi comes in and is like what the fuck is going on. Barr tells him to pull down the statues, and he tries and fails miserably and then Barr comes to help and he succeeds. Violi asks what happens and Barr says they opened the sarcophagus to check for sacrifices for Bahamut and Bane appeared and attacked unprovoked. The group takes pieces of the broken statue to pile up over the sarcophagus to prevent it from opening and put up a sign that says “Do Not Open”.

They then leave and do some settling and go to bed. We check in with Rothgar to see if he was able to secure travel off the continent. He said he secured a mighty vessel that leaves tonight and points to a small fishing boat. Violi wishes him luck and to be careful of Krakens. Rothgar says wait stop as he clearly becomes fearful of a Kraken in open water. Violi tells him not to worry Barr Bane of Krakens Bay slayed a kraken. He believes him and gets back on the boat and sails away. The group returns and takes a long rest
