We roll initiative. Jacques casts Sanctuary on Marlin
Marlin takes damage :sad face: The ship hits us with a thunder cannon.
Kito is able to make out some more about the ship. 300 feet long, teardrop shape, hammer bronze, shimmering. Has two weapon ports and sails, with a huge Eye of Martus ((It’s most likely from Calcedon.
Rikavon transforms into the Baroness Isabella (Milf factor 10/12), then casts __ to try and create an Eye of Martus, 15 feet across, visible to the oncoming ship. Their lightening cannon does not fire (due to Sanctuary). We continue to close the distance. We decide to tell the truth, from a certain point of view. In send (Message). We can see the bridge of the other vessel,

We send: “Hail and well met We bear the imperial ambassador Baronness Isabella. We were unfortunately waylaid by void sickness and are only now headed to rejoin the ambassadorial returnee. Long live the Emperor All Glory to Martus. “

They Reply: “Hail and well met! We do not see the Baronness Isabella aboard your vessel. We see an illusion of the Sacred Eye of the Witness and we see illusion magic around one of your crew members. Please bring forth the Baroness Isabella so that we may observe her sell-being. Long live the Emperor. All Glory to Martus.”

We say: “Martus will truly reward such faithful and observant servants. You’re correct that the Baroness is not here. We were deputized by her to inform you that Martus has bestowed you the blessing of his daughter on Bluestone . The Baroness was resting on Metsya whenst we departed to Brivka. We foiled an assassination plot against her.

“Pray pardon captain. We see the condition of your crew and worry that the trip to Brivka may leave you in no condition to communicate. There is a planet not but a day’s journey from here that Martus has blessed. Resting there, below his eye may give you the strength to continue. We would happily” (26 persuasion check)

Captain’s reply: “Hail and well met. We graciously deign to be escorted to the holy place you describe. Proceed forthwith. Our vessel’s speed comfortably exceeds yours so may follow. Long live the Emperor. All Glory to Martus.”

“Fair captain, We ought not delay, if your ship travels faster than ours, perchance we may come aboard and guide you there in haste. Our ship, in this most recent engagement, is not as fast as it once was.” Ylossia Yuan-Leo Starfeller lays on hands dramatically, Rikavon Horvaltyne wills Marlxn to look pathetic.

Their reply:”Hail and well met. Upon much deliberation, we find the proposed arrangement would further the divine will of Martus the Witness. Proceed immediately to the tender docking bays at the aft of our vessel. Any hostile action will be met with immediate, overwhelming, and wholly fatal response. Long live the Emperor. All Glory to Martus.”

We dock in one of the tender bays, 3 other tenders on board. We’re greeted by the captain, 2 lieutenants and 12 soldiers. The Captain is quite voidsick, but offers us a toast. Captain Albina introduces herself and the Paladin, Testifier Caspian. Captain Albina goes arm-in-arm with Rikavon Horvaltyne.

We get 2 travel hazards.
We travel though an area of space affected by a Bluestone device that causes “slimy doom” to be inflicted upon others. We shake it off, but the 2 lieutenants don’t, and now bleed uncontrollably for 7 days. We retire to a state room and they cast Zone of Truth on us, Rikavon withstands the effects, the rest of the party fall under the spell’s effects. The Captain challenges Rikavon, then leaves the room.
“I have made no plans to harm any of the crew or officers.” Caspian crushes an ampule, Jacques and Rikavon drop (Rikavon rises back to 1). Caspian offers to heal them, in exchange for the keys to Marlxn He says”I’m here for one thing, and one thing only, the safe return of Salva (sp?)” as he stabs Jacques 3 times. Rikavon transforms into form of dread and eldritch blasts. Kito shouts “You killed my friend” reeling psychic damage on the Paladin, followed up by an ineffective fireball.

The Paladin’s sward says “Lifebringer” in Celestial. Bramble attunes to a sentient sword, attunes to it and brings back Jacques. Albina runs in just to watch Caspian’s head roll off his body from Ylossia’s sword. A lieutenant runs in, Kito attacks the captain with a sword, and casts fear on both. The battle continues, more crew try to enter, however the doomed lieutenant blocks the door, with Bramble holding the door. Ylossia’s claims another head as they kill the Captain.

RIkavon’s shambling form of arms burst through the door, buzzard heads screech as they thunderstep back into the state room, killing 15. Kito: “We did warn them…” Bernice join’s the fight and tries to bite the lieutenant in the hall on the face. Ylossia kills the lieutenant inside the room. Bramble scares the crew-member who swears himself to us. His name is Julius. Jacques decides otherwise and kills him; the lieutenant survives, long enough for Kito to stab him with his sword.

Bramble tried to save Julius by running, but Julius expired.

We seized control of the imperial ship Occulus!

Kito beings reading the log as we settle down for a long rest.
The plan was to take over Brivca and await for reinforcements. Pretty much from the get-go things go awry, the voidsong is louder from Chalcedon.
The Testifer has visions, which are written down. One vision reports of a sheffan as “the man with the magpie” was taken over by Martus. (Think Cecil). The crew rallies around this plan
