Day 37

We wake up!

Ylossia Yuan-Leo Starfeller returns from the ship and Kito casts greater restoration on Jacques x2. The Geminate Mishtan offers to scry on someone for us and we decide to look in on Kel Brightmoon. We find him looking through books in a nondescript library, specifically looking for a way to control theThe Eskaton Engine. He finds out that the The Carnelian Bridle was last seen on Atar. We decide to give them one of the tenders. Enoch comes with.

As we approach the Oculus, there’s a ship with big red sails, about 400 feet away. It matches the description of the ship that the Goldenbrew’s came to the Expanse on, as well as the one that the witch escaped on. Kito casts darkness on the bow of Marxin and we successfully sneak on! Ylossia Yuan-Leo Starfeller and Kito Tanith. Kito notices that the lights on the bridge are on, Everyone else knows that there’s no one in the rest of the ship. Kito opens the bridge door and is greeted by 3 people in form fitting leathers with straps. Avery (Slightly older visible weapon), Jayden (Quarter staff) and Quinn (Sword). Kito drops invisibility and engages with them “We’re here to work with you. We’re researchers studying a huge arcane surge.” (Insight checks with Jacques and Ylossia catch that they’re being magnanimous

Kito and Jadyen talk. Ylossia lets Bernice out, which Kito goes to pick up. Bernice bites and suddenly Bramble and Jacques appear, startling the three. “We hope to learn more about the structure of the world around us, isn’t that enough.” Kito casts Detect Thoughts to get a sense of who these three are. Bramble tells them about our adventures. They’re working along side with Kel Brightmoon, but with parallel goals” We talk them into helping to fix the ship. All this talk of the shard causes Ylossia to feel for it in her bag, and she notices that it’s missing ((Pickpocketed by Rikavon just yesterday)).

Rikavon and Korv get their baring in Marlxn, and discuss heading back to The Pale Citadel. The Buzzard communicates with Rikavon while they sleep, allowing the two to communicate. The Buzzard and The Albatross have been in competition, looking for a source of power in New Sheffa. All Rikavon needs to do is travel through the shard, proceed to a tower that looks like a tortoise shell tower and unleash their form of dread there to obtain this power

Bramble

Bramble, under the effects of dominate person, appears on the bridge of the ship with the Witch. The air is thick, almost too thick. Bramble passes out, but not before Quin casts dispel magic. Bramble wakes up with Jayden and Quin. There’s some food laid out for Bramble. Jayden wants it noted that they do not agree with the Witch’s violent tactics and they are “going to speak with her” about it…. They recap that the Steering Committee is discussing the next steps with the Witch. Jayden and Quin offer up the use of their on board bath house (no, not the gay kind, but they do get naked.)

Quin explains that their goal is “saving Sheffans from the Sheffan Expanse.” They want to help people move to New Sheffa. They see forcibly relocating Sheffans as not an acceptable choice. Their ship is called The Bridge Builder. They note that some priests saw visions about not working with The New Sheffans. They had sent out folks to recruit outcast magic users to study the barrier between worlds. They admit that they don’t have a way back. The Witch knew about New Sheffa before they found and made contact with her. The witch and a cleric (Kel Brightmoon) found archival info about a Chaclcadonian weapon with a blade that could cut through space to create a portal. Jayden and Quinn believe that this would work without anyunanticipated consequences.

Bramble asks about The Wanderer and about the creation of New Sheffa. Bramble tells them that the Partners of Revelry were headed to Atar, and then headed to the golomancy ritual on Gyridus KY. Quinn says that the steering committee will make the decision. Jayden gets out of the bath and beings going through Bramble’s stuff while Quinn explains that this is for the safety of the ship. Bramble grapples Jayden and gets them to stop going through his stuff. The vibe, having been killed (by either Bramble Bristleback orJaden and Quinn. They show him to his room.
