Three moons and the sun
Myth of hyrule
It is said, when three Goddesses left the Hyrule, They left the guardianship of the world to their daughter Hylia. In her care, they left pieces of their godhoods, the Triforce. As they ascended to realms beyond, their otherwordly essesences picked up mountains, rivers and clouds with them, which formed the Three moons as the eyes of the goddesess so they could still keep watch from the outer realm they left to.
As the years go by, one of the moons takes place as the Dominant moon, shining a faintly coloured glow on the starry nights while the other two can be faintly spotted behind the dominant one.
Din’s moon, is the largest of the Celestial bodies, glowing a light orange during the summer and fall months, the times of harvest and family.
Nayuru’s moon, the second largest, shines dim blue light upon long winter seasons, the time of calm, peace and stillness.
Farore’s moon is the smallest lime green moon, which while having the shortest cycle, begets the beginings of a new year, spring, as well as rebirth.
Hylia, with the power of Triforce, sought to watch her children all year around, so she formed her eye, the Sun. In her watchful eyes she provides warmth and safety, but due to keeping the watch all year long, she must rest her eye during the night, during which one of her sister’s eyes take their turn.
