Rito villages have a bi-yearly contest called “Trail of Champions” in which teams of sleigh-racers travel across the most dangerous (beside Malice corrupted lands) region of the Tabantha, Vah’Medoh Summits, in order to gain favor of the deities such as Nayru, Levias, Great Fairy and most especially, Vah Medoh, The Thunderbird. Village presentitives who win also gain a boon from Elders, usually supplies for their villages and great honor within community. The Trail consist on 4-5 days of travel, from Dragon’s roost to checkpoints. Aside the caretakers in checkpoints the contestants must fend for themselves and collect required material at or near checkpoints and return back to Dragon’s Roost. Simply finishing the race first is not enough to win.
